well, i jus downloaded the mp3s of MLB's Grand Final performance on Sat. (p/s: they are singapore's 1st superband). i have not received mum's disc from home and i didnt noe how the other bands fare and i didnt want to waste $$$ downloadin their mp3s, cos im not a fan of them. but i have got to say, i was a tad disappointed at their performances.

their 1st song was Qian Shou, Holding Hands, by Zhang Hui Mei and it was meant to be a song tat was supposed to "bring the house down" and i tot their rendition was, how do i put it, abit vulgar for me. the singing sounded messy and abit all over the place with alot of uncalled-for screaming, in my opinion. as in, there was this part when the lyrics was like , GO WHERE? and someone replied, GO TO UR MAMA'S PLACE. i mean, it sounded abit vulgar, or rather, not too sophisticated in Mandarin. i didnt like tat part and i have to say, i loved all their songs up till this song. it was definately abit sad for me to have them ending tis way.

2nd song was Xiao Wei i think. tis song is wat all the 4 bands have to sing, and all 4 bands have their diff styles and so, in theory there shd be 4 versions of this song. as i said earlier, i havnt heard the others sing yet so i cant compare. but i loved MLB's version of that song. it was very sexy and jazzy and makes me go Oooohhh. i tot they did great.

3rd song was Woosa i tink. tats the judges' challenge to them and i tink it was a tough challenge. go n have a listen to the original version, by Cyndi Wang and u will probly noe wat i mean. the song is a crappy song to begin with, how to sing!? u look at the title u noe liao lor. Woosa?! wats tat?! but i compared the 2 versions and im glad to say i tink they did justice to the song and made it as unsucky as possible.

last song was Yong Qi, Courage, and i kinda liked it too. it wasnt spectacular as Guo Huo or Shen Bian but it was alrite. the original version was sung by a girl and now they are singing it. they being guys, well, i dunno, maybe im jus being sensitive but i liked their version too. cos they way they arranged the song, it showcases Courage from a guy's pt of view and i got tat msg. nic's singing was abit scary at times, cos u r not too too sure when he will go off pitch and the last few screaming parts got some marks deducted for them from me. but well, still liked it overall.

but in their own words, written in their blog, "the finals weren't exactly our best 4 songs throughout tis com... " sadly, i agree. sigh. it wasnt as gd an ending to an otherwise fantastic story.

but now, they are gonna embark on a brand new chapter of their lifes and i, ginz a MLB Fan, sincerly wishes them all the best n dun worry, i will buy ur album. haha.. i mean it! and u guys shd feel honoured, i dun rem me buying cds since like, wat, half a decade ago? heh.
