OMG, guess where im blogging from?

hello everyone! jus wanna let u all noe, ive got no internet at home. cos huh, ive got a sec 4 O's bro AND a pri 6 PSLE bro tis yr. anyway, think the tv and phone is enuf to let them fail liao. imagine internet. cannot la!
so.. back to the qn. guess where am i blogging from?!

im supposed to meet the guys(Gab,Kev,WL) for dinner at Esplanade jap place and i jus had a dental appt at raffles place, ended at 430. (P/S: sorry WL, NO i did NOT have to take out any teeth and i didnt even have to repair! so there! but sigh, it costed me 80 bucks. shit. made me consider bout taking dentistry instead so i can suck the money back from others.) sorry, i digress. IM NOW AT THE LIBRARY @ESPLANADE using the internet. how medieval can one get?! use the computer in the public library?! but anyway, at least im online. gosh, long time no blog already. feeling funny.

had a fun-filled week!

was down with fever on the day i touched down, so was sleeping all the way. then had yummy lunch with family on sunday. we went to beach road to have Beef Noodles! OMG, tat was like, superduper yummy la!!!!!!!!!!!!! argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then at nite was at gran's place, had fun hanging out with the Cousins. heh

then, monday, went out with Leeying and Qin at JP. i ate Ban Mian! then i bought another sweater. yes i noe i have a lot, but i cant resist it! then i went home and DRUMROLL PLS!
I JOGGED! I WENT FOR A JOG!
then after tat i came home and watch SUperband. SIGH. MLB was ousted tis week. WAT THE?!
come on lor! the group tat shd be out shd be either MAntou or Brods. mantou is jus not up to standards la.. and Brods - they sing ULU songs ALL THE TIME. their vocals are good in the midrange but tis really noting spectacular, seriously. tink they would be more suited for Project Superstar type, but dun tink they can survive tat. come on! look at the Project Superstar contestants! their vocal range is much much more powerful than Brods' can?! sigh. they noe they sure loss at Project Superstar so they join Superband and try to have their 10mins of fame. sigh.
SuperBAND leh. which part of Brods = Band to u?! anyway, i jus hope MLB will be successfully revived tis coming week. i voted for them last week! 1 call! and im gonna vote for them again tis time round! JIAYOU MLB!!!! HAHA

then tues,wed had VB chalet. it was great fun, thou some ppl didnt turn up but we had fun nevertheless. shall upload the pics when i get my hands on a PC or smt.

came back on thurs morning and slept all the way till evening. woke up and DRUMROLL AGAIN PLS! I JOGGED! haha, but tis 2nd time was more or less a waste of time la. jus to bluff myself and make myself feel better. heh.cos i tink there was still lactic acid in my body, so by my 2nd round my thighs are like, hurting like made already. so i ran s l o w and little. but im gonna do better tis sunday! run almost every alternate day ma... really hope to burn some fat. serious.

then its friday now and i jus had my dental appt and since then im here in the lib, blogging and reading blogs.

and yes, the boys are LATE.
who says only girls are lousy at keeping time?! who?! who!?

and i wanna msn and blog!

and dear frens in ozland, dun worry, ive been bringing my camera almost everywhere i go so i can take pics of the food here. u all in ozland can partake in the visual experience, if not for the actual experience. heh.. sorry im evil.

AND IM STILL SAD MLB IS OUT! MILUBING! U BETTER DO UR THANG TIS WEEKEND AND SHOW THE JUDGES WAT U GUYS ARE MADE OF! LEAVE THE VOTING TO US! but u guys shd vote for urselves too. serious. and can someone tell me how come mantou and brods still in?! and sigh, update on Superband - J3 is looking better and better these weeks. sigh.definatly a threat. and Lucify, they r good too. and Soul, their dancing is superb la. wat else can i say?! and u jus have to see the success of Boybands from Taiwan etc then u noe how far they can go in this comp liao. never mind the fact that they really have alot to improve on their vocals. nevermind this is a NOT a SuperDANCE comp. sigh.

opps

im supposed to be packing my room now but im getting so distracted at NOT packing.

i know, its terrible. i need to find wat motivates me now, cos i feel like there is no drive for me to get things up and going.

i leave things to the very last minute and pray and hope against hope that i dun have to do that ting.

yes im in denial, or in the words of WL, Cognitive Disonance. i tink tats his best 2K spent, on the Psych 102 Unit.

and im tired. im like a zombie.

i noe, i keep going on bout no drive and motivation, but i am really at the stage of my life where i am not particularly looking forward to anyting. expect maybe SUperBand. which is like, huh. wat sort of proper drive is tat?!

is tis wat menopause feels like?

is tis wat it is like to be at an age where u are at crossroads and u do not know which way to go and hence u decide to just stay stationary?

or do i actually have a direction but there is no force behind me?

is wat i am feeling now, Aimlessness?

who can save me?

who can tell me wat to do to get out of my world?

plain speakin would prolly not help. i can tell u tat. im at such a terrible stage, i would jus be so stubborn and not listen. my word is the world.

i have no idea why but i feel like im actually locking myself in a room, and im not letting anyone in. neither am i willing to take the 1st step and walk out.

everyone. im not too sure if i have successfully tuned my body clock. but yay. i woke up by myself at 615. laze ard on bed till 630 before alarm went off.
it was like, i couldnt get back to sleep by then, so i decided to wake up. i slept at 12am last nite, by far the earliest in like, 1 month?! heh
shiok.
lets hope tat means i am 1 step nearer in acheiving my dream of an early riser. hah

people, hope and pray for me, that tis good trend continue. is it even counted at a trend?! its only once! but hope there's more to come!

overkill, no?

ok, lun told me tat i mite have been going on abit too much bout MLB, its like overkill liao, so i shall try my best to tone tings down.

i have discovered some very nice songs recently, almost all donated generously by irritating-classmate.

ppl, have a listen. its nice!
they may not be the most up-to-date songs, and u may laugh at me for being so "backwards". but well, here no radio and im really ok with my current music library.

(tis song is bout the son asking the dad did he grow up to plan. then son tinks he did not. they were close last time, but now they have drifted apart. - i totally connected with tis song. its a song totally close to my heart! hmmm, makes me tink of my bro thou. cos he O's tis yr, but according to sources, he is not performin as well as he shd. p/s: eh, he is like failing la.. but he feels guilty too, esp to dad. i can sorta understand where he is coming from, sometimes cannot motivate oneself is like tat one... so, ya. i tink i will let ZY hear tis song. he could sing tis song to dad. his sentiments exactly. i tink, to a certain extent, my sentiments too. )

i tink i have more substance than u tink. so there!

had one of the more irritating lunch-time conversations today.
some of them kept insisting/hinting that i wasnt mature enuf, that i've got no substance.
for the record, i DO NOT like britney spears or christina agulera or how-do-u-spell-her-name.
and i do not tink liking music by Simple Plan, Maroon5 or whoever equates to being not-grown-up or childish, thou i am not particularly inclined towards them either.
and who says u have to like music by tori amos or sarah mclachlan or whoever, to make u more mature?!
whoever said taste in music reflects how mature/immature one is?
i tot one is judged by more than such tings?
i tot one is judged by how he carries himself, by the frens he keep, the very manner in which he speaks, by the books he read.
so, liking a particular genre or music makes u a lesser being than a person who appreciates the "more accomplished" singers?
come on, tis sch of tot is so cliche.
move on already!
last time all the singers need to do is to stand there and sing. that was before tv was the norm.
now, its entertainment. u need to sing, u need to dance, u need to have the mass appeal, u need to have the x-factor.
different ppl look out for different things in life. same goes for music. music is an ART, products of human creativity. and who can set a gold standard and rank creativity? its very subjective, particular to a given person. there is no winning formula for it. the logic of 1+1=2 does not apply to Art all the time.
i tell u i like teresa teng, u mite tell me, oh gosh. u r so orbit and old-fashioned.
i tell u i like pop and u tell me, oh. so u like britney spears? with "that look" on ur face.
i defended myself and insisted i like The Eagles too. but after a while i tot, im being like, so fake! i like The Eagles true, but its only tat album and the songs inside. wat, a total of 12 songs and i decided i like them and can take them out to boast?
and admit it, some songs by Britney or N'sync or one of the bands/singers from that era are nice. if not, how do u tink they ever got famous? huh?
and i tink its jus a phase almost everyone has to go thru. so jus come out of it earlier than others. some dun even come out of that genre of music but who are we to say whats a "mature" sound or not?
wat, u tink all the smart, mature, level-headed people out there looks upon Britney or N'sync or whoever with disdain?
i duno man, but i doubt so.
a true smart, mature, level-headed person will jus be more open-minded and accept ur taste in music as uniquely u.
if a young person can like The Beatles, The Eagles etc etc, i dun see wats wrong with a slightly older individual liking "teeny-boppers".
as long as the music is fine, who the hell gives a damn?!

surfing thru chU forums for titbits on my new obession and look wat i found?!

From ChU forum on Superband. -Nananana wrote it. wat a name. but i guess wat she wrote was more intelligent than her name. haha

being a total concept is really important or we would be back in the 1950s in the west or 1970s in singapore where singers just need to stand and sing with good voice. In fact, during then, singers don't even need to dance. They have background dancers.Could you imagine a boyband or girlband who don't dance?
The world has moved on. No longer is a good voice important. You need a TOTAL PACKAGE. Voice, Looks, Image, Dressings, Dance, Attitude, Marketing, Song, even record company etc. everything is important and anything can make or break the singer/group. Some group prance around the stage because it goes with their music type.
That is the whole value of entertainment and showsmanship. That is not called clowns or comedians. Not all clowns and comedians are entertaining in fact.
And entertainment is not limited to comedians and crowns. Music itself, besides being an art form, is also entertainment for the masses.
Another important factor that were overlooked is musical styles. Superband has brought together different genres of music. It is not possible to compare band to band by looking at one criteria only. Eg, You can't compare band 1 to 2 with vocals only, or dance moves only, or musical instruments only.
You can't compare the fact that Brods don't play instruments and Qinobe does and therefore Brods is worse off.
You can't compare J3 singing and Qinobe rapping and say the latter is lousy singers. You can't say Soul are such good dancers and Milopeng don't dance so Milopeng is bad.
Recognise the different genres that these groups are representing and try to judge them on their proper category.
It's pointless to compare modern dance with ballet in a competition. The only way to guage the better one is to see who is good in modern dance itself and who is good at ballet itself. Personally I prefer Ballet as it is an art that not all can excell even after many years of training. However, I will not automatically say that a ballerina is the winner and modern dancer is loser if they are in the same competition. I would assess if the ballerina is a good ballerina and if the modern dancer is good in her art form. If the ballerina is lousy and the modern dancer is excellent, I would think the winner is the modern dancer. tis analogy makes sense, no?

Guo Huo is history.
After reading all the good reviews about Guohuo. I have something to say.
Music is an art - not science so there is really no success formal. it doesn't mean that cos Guohuo scores well with everyone means that is the success formula and therefore, it can be replicated.
Things turn out well cos of the right time, right song, right ambience, right place, right mood and right feeling and all these right elements will not come together again.
Every song has their essence.
Everyweek, people's expecations change, vibes change, feelings and mood changes so it doesn't mean if you play Guo Huo again, it will be as popular.
in fact, one can even use the concept of marginal utility to explain. no? hah.. u get the satisfaction level there then it will drop. becos there is would be overkill.( i said it!)
it is like food - when something is nice, you can't eat a second plate.
It won't taste as good - same goes for Music. (haha. he said one. not me!)
I worry that you guys start to take Guo Huo as the successful formula.
Guo huo is history - it makes people sit up and notice you and makes yourselves sit up and notice yourselves. But it is over.
Instead on lingering on Guohuo, i think it might be wiser to move on and discover new elements.

excuse my obsession

everyone! ive got a new obsession! and they are the Superband's Mi Lu Bing!!!!!!!!
yay! haha... excuse me acting like a teenager who didnt know better but i tink they are good! i mean, i like the performances i have seen so far. and they are v funny and original, i tink la..
and. AND! they play their own instruments la! and mind u, the word is instrumentS. can?! can?! im impressed. very very super-duper impressed! yay! sporeans rocks too!

i was abit undecided at first, cos i like SOUL and Juz-B too. cos the dance ah.. i tell u. its fantastic.. they really qualify to be an official boyband liao.and good news! they dun sound bad singing, which is a major PLUS. =) then Juz-B, u jus listen to them sing, its fantastic.. and they are malays leh! the pronunciation can kill them liao but they still managed to make it sound fantastic and effortless. RESPECT. but then i liked MLB too, for reasons stated above. then i decided i can only have 1 favourite. i decided to affiliate myself with MLB! yay! cos huh, weiliang say that Sam is his fren, so its like a personal issue here. then i tink, im not too too sure la.. but i tink the nic was from JSS, my alma mater! so of cos mus support la! eh, JSS rocks leh.. cos huh, when i saw him, i didnt recognise him. now i still dunno who he is. but i remember in my younger, more bo liao days, i would flip thru my sch mag and jus look at the pics and names lor.. like try to find the pic of whoever was i tot was cute in sch last time..then there was a weird name, i remember telling myself last time, wah. wat a weird name. the dad cannot decide if he want to name the poor kid Nick or Demus, add both together become Nicodemus. haha.. i mean, ive never heard of such a name before! then hor, i looked at MLB's blog, then somewhere they had nic's full name. tink it was nicodemus too.. then im like, huh, wat a weird name. then im like wait! how come there is a repeat of weird names! i rem my sec sch got 1 snr oso called tat name! therefore, i suspect the nic in MLB is the nic of JSS! i dun remember the nic-of-jss' face. shall go back home n look at the yearbook.. haha.. hope its the same person! yay! then at least connected in some way..haha.. so. before the mystery is solved, i shall jus assume nic-of-MLB is the nic-of-JSS.. ahah.. yay! and therefore, i support MLB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thou, Brods music sounds nice too.. but they not cute, so i dun like. but they sing well, so have to look out for them.
J3 is neither here nor there. dun tink they are a big threat in terms of "shi li". skills.
Snoopy is very unique in their band direction so it appeals to another type of audience. but singing and bandwise, shdnt be a much fight.
Mantou is oso not a big fight i tink. in terms of singing and band, they are still not there yet. good!
Lucify is oso v unique. then the judges say they improve alot liao, so abit worried..
SOUL is a big big threat! cos rite.. they CAN dance lor.. and they dun sing really bad too.. and u noe, dancing always appeals. and the judges always give them v high marks, so which means they v good too.
Juz-B is out liao but i tink they are damn good lor.. i tink got another revival round. sure one la! they start eliminate from 10 bands leh! then if they make a comeback then it shall be v scary. cos they sing super well.
Amber i abit like too. but then the music is ok only leh... i tink la.
Xia Ri Feng - go home and sleep. stop embarassing urself on national tv. i cant sing better than u guys, but at least i noe not to expose my flaws. cannot make it means cannot make it. sing an easier song better than try a diff song and mutilate the diff song and make a fool out of urselves. when i hear u guys sing wilber pan's bu de bu ai - i cringed. i shivered. i got goose pimples. i pitied u guys. u guys mus have felt like a fool too. poor tings.. anyway, take care and come back when u ppl can sing better/choose better songs.

argh! i tink it mite be a battle of the boybands and the proper bands!

ARGH. EXAMS

E X A M S. . .

who knew after all the O's and A's, i still am not adapting too too well to exam stress.

my mind is wandering all over. for my units, at least 2 are jus PLAIN MEMORISING. which anyone who knows me will know i absolutely suck at it. its true! and. i stare at the notes. the notes stare straight back at me. i know noting is going in becos i cannot regurgitate even half of wat im supposed to "study" out. it sucks. at least if its an "understanding" unit more than memorising, i can at least make abit more effort, like biomech. but its PA 1st, and so i have to memorise in time for the PA exam. then Bio212 is another unit memorise like hell one. but at least got understanding part. so i hope its ok. but i hate Bio212, becos till now, i still dunno wat im supposed to know for the exams. at least i know the lecture stuff. but its the histo bit esp, that fears me. BLOODLY HELL. then BioMech is cool, except i tink i have trouble with some understanding of concepts. but tats ok i guess. practise more can liao. i tink as far as studying for tat goes, im cool. scoring is another ting, but the process of studying shd be ok. then ex phys - by far my best unit. becos almost everyting makes sense. so its memorise, but its like, linked. i guess the zhong dian is u can reason out with that.. so tats good. i hope to do really well for it thou. cos so far so good for that unit. yay! my only shot at HD lies on Ex Phys. and tats my last paper so shd be alrite.. i guess. i hope.

Life is not bad to me after all.

I suddenly, suddenly feel actually, Life is not bad to me.
Life took some things away from me, but he didnt forget to give me some back.

Like :
Ive got the best mum and dad in the world, who loves me very much.
dad dote on me so much, he went to buy a DVD recorder so he could help me record all my shows so i could watch!
mum calls me everynight to talk to me, because she knows even thou i seem fine, im still lonely at times.
Ive got the best brothers in the world.
thou we dun see eye to eye, but i noe deep down we still love one another, and there is a bond and connection i noe will jus get stronger as we grow older and become less childish.
Ive got the best boyfren in the world.
he is still waiting for me to go home and have fun with him. he "entertains" me (in his words!) almost every night over msn because he knows i miss him.(thou i duno y he dun wan to webcam.say waste $$$. =) )
Ive got the bestest fren in the entire world.
she toks to me on msn almost everynight too. or she will msg me randomly. or drop me silly random emails. she lends me her ear, and stands on my side every single time. its amazing how she does it, to be able to be support me all those times.
Ive got the best cousins in the world.
we are Cousins-United, right? we hang out! and we share secrets. well, not really me, but i do tell stuff to my fav cuz, heh. u noe who u r! yup!in case u wondering, its my cuz-cum-tutor. amazing how i can like him so much when i swear i dislike him ALOT when i was younger.
Ive got the best brudders in the world.
thou we seldom tok now, but whenever we speak, its like i have never left. or we were still in the same class, stuck in time, back when we were aged16.
Ive got the best vball teammates in the world.
because of them, their presence and support, i am able to be who i am today. u ppl significally contributed to the makings of me, and im glad i have ever known u guys. im so proud to be part of the team.
Ive got the closest frens here in Ozland.
well, i hope without having to put in black and white, u 2 noe who u r! thank u for being by my side when i need it the most and for providing me the safe haven here. thou we are not in close proximity now, but i still get to see u guys everyday and im glad we can still talk, jus like before.
Ive got a few other closer frens here in Ozland too.
thou we have not known each other for long, i find myself sharing with u all stuff that's more personal to me. i feel that we can click really well and hope to be able to get to know u all better!
Ive got one of the best circle of frens here in Ozland.
thanks for the support and laughs u guys have given to me, forced or not. haha. and for pretending to laugh at my lame attempts. u guys didnt have to, but u guys did. thanks alot.

Looking back, i have to say i am thankful for all those.
Life has not given me all that i wanted, but at least he didnt forget to give me all these priceless wants. (better than none!)

jus for all these gifts, i will not let them down, and i will not let myself down.
with the whole world watching, i have to put my best leg forward and pull up my ankle socks!

the sense of motivation is coming back to me. thank goodess for tat too, Life.
